Manu Mart is a Madrid-based photographer and is a member of the collective Calle35. As he is self-taught, he first came into contact with documentary photography in Barcelona, at the Institut d’Estudis Fotografics de Catalunya.
In recent years he has travelled on many occasions to Asia in order to document the lives of the continent’s major cities through street photography. This year the German brand Leica included him in its LFI Loanpool program, for his work entitled Barangay.
He has also won several prizes and honors for his documentary work. Over the past year he exhibited his work in the prestigious Festival Internacional de la Imagen (International Image Festival) in Mexico and he was selected as a finalist for the Roberto Vilagraz Scholarship, based on his work on the living conditions of children in New Smokey Mountain, in Manila.
